Dear Supporters and Praying Friends,
Greetings from Blair, Nebraska! On behalf of my family, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for every prayer made on our behalf! We want to thank you for every email, card, letter, and phone call. You will never know just how exciting it is to hear from you.
I recently received a card from a supporting church in Florida who indicated, at length, that they were encouraged by the recent letter from us and that it was special to them. This is awesome because I usually ask the Lord to take our prayer letter and use it to encourage those who read it. I ask that it not be discouraging. The Lord sure answered my prayers!
The last two months have been extremely busy on many fronts! I suffered the loss of a dear friend of mine, E. J. Grubbs, on the second day of March. I had the privilege of attending the funeral and getting to spend some time with many friends and family back in North Carolina. When I returned, I had to conduct two funerals; one of which was a charter member of our church. There has been much sickness and distress in the lives of many of our church family.
April brought the opportunity to experience the greatest revival meeting I have ever attended. Dr. Jerry Whitlow, from Massillon Baptist College in Massillon, Ohio, preached each service in demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. We had the joy of seeing many great decisions that week including one that has transformed our church. A lady, whom I led to Christ a few years ago, has been growing in the Lord. She has been under conviction about living with a gentleman to whom she was not married all this time. In the revival, she made her decision to depart from the relationship known. Of course, our church was happy for her decision and has come to her aide in the days since to facilitate her transition into a new residence.
April has not been without its hard times like the month of March, but with each situation, God has been very present to help in our troubles. I hope this encourages you as you face your trials! People often ask what our ongoing needs are. The answer is simple… spiritually speaking, we need power from on High to be the Christians we need to be and to bring glory and honor to Christ with our lips AND our lives! We need the practical faith to keep trusting the Lord to supply the many fiscal needs we have encountered.
The family is doing well. Each of our children is excited about the summer ahead. They have been improving in school work and are getting older every minute. Way too fast for Shilo and I to cope. The church family has really made our family a priority as of late. It is awesome to have such a loving congregation.
In conclusion, I want to give a special thanks to each entity that has helped meet the financial obligation for the new engine in our Chevrolet Suburban. It has served to not only encourage me, but my entire family as well. We almost have the initial costs of the new engine paid off! Hallelujah!!! Should anyone have any further questions about our family or the ministries here… please do not hesitate to contact us!
