Schank Family Prayer Letter January – February 2015

Schank FamilyJanuary – February 2015 Prayer Letter

Dear Supporters and Praying Friends,

Greetings from Blair, Nebraska! I would like to begin this letter with a word of praise, “Hallelujah!” Jehovah God is, indeed, worthy of our praise! I would like to express my family’s deepest gratitude for your cards, letters, phone calls, and faithful financial support. I would like to thank you most of all for your prayers. Without your laboring with us in your prayer closet, we could not do what we are doing out here in the field!

The past two months have been like a roller coaster for us. Shilo and I found out early in January that our oldest daughter, Miranda, could possibly have cancer. She had a lump in the inside of her upper arm. After an MRI the doctors seem to think that she actually has a benign vascular tumor. She is scheduled to return for another MRI in April. Pray for this situation. Miranda is frustrated. Surgery can be done, but not recommended because the tumor will likely return in a year or two. It can be very painful for her. She desires your prayers!

The rest of the family is doing great. Nobody has been sick much and for this we are extremely thankful! The kids are already counting down the days till the end of their school year. This is always exciting!

Our church plant, Great Commission Baptist Church, just celebrated our 1 year anniversary since we formerly organized last year on February 9, 2014. Sunday morning, February 8th we celebrated by having The Epley Family from Eastern Iowa minister to us in sermon and song. Brother Steve Epley preached a challenging message from God’s Word and Sister Bonita, as usual, tickled the ivories extremely well! We enjoyed a video entitled, “A Walk Down Memory Lane!” that some folks put together highlighting some of our milestones as a church body. No Homecoming Service would be complete without dinner on the grounds, so we had a giant pot luck meal with all the trimmings.

Shilo and I are just like each of you. We are facing challenging times. All of the bills seem to get paid, but you cannot explain it other than a miracle of God! Our families in the church are enduring some major hardships as well. All of us are learning to trust the Lord more and more each day. For this we are truly grateful!

Again, we thank each of you for your continued love and support. Be sure to visit our redesigned website, togetherithegap.com. Our prayer letters are archived on there and you can communicate with us through that arena if you so choose. May Christ continue to bless you and your family!

Endeavoring To Stand In The Gap,
