Dear Supporters and Praying Friends,
Greetings from Blair! On behalf of my family, I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, birthday cards, letters of encouragement, gifts, and financial support for the last two months. Each one served to be an encouragement to the family!
July and August were victorious months in some ways, but devastating in others. More cosmetic work was finished in our new church facility. We were able to get more things worked out with the insurance company about damage to our home from the June 3rd hail storm. We saw another profession of faith in Christ! More visitors came to our services! We acquired another church van after our other one was totaled beyond repair… again, the hail storm. This was due to the benevolence of a dear friend of the family from back home and a church in Buffalo, WY.
We have been engaged in teaching our people how to be a soul-winner. Our folks have loved it! Some remarked how these lessons have empowered them to share the gospel more. Our ongoing discipleship endeavors have borne more fruit. So thankful for God’s leadership in these areas!
On the other side of the coin, I was soberly reminded of the high cost of ministering to others. Just after the July 4th holiday, one of the men from our congregation and myself we engaging in meaningful ministry with an older couple in the community. Things did not turn out like we had hoped. This situation was extremely disheartening. I learned something through this deeply tragic trial of my faith. No matter how hard things seem to be, Jesus is standing right beside you! The Holy Spirit reminded me of when Jesus healed the maniac of Gadara. For simply trying to help someone, He, The Son Of God, was run out of town. I suppose my friend and I are in good company!!!
In spite of the aforementioned hardship, things could not be any better. God has shown Himself strong on our behalf. Our family is closer than ever. Our church family is united and God is using us in a mighty way! I am thankful for the opportunity to serve!
Our family started back to school a few weeks ago. Things are in full swing now. Shilo and the kids are adjusting well and nobody is sick! Hallelujah! My children have been able to reach their friends rather well this summer. Many of them are coming faithfully to our youth activities. Pray they will start coming to church!
In conclusion, I would like you to keep on praying for a continued open door here in Blair. We have been able to reach people this summer that nobody else is reaching. So much work… so little time! Here, there, or in the air! God bless each one of you!!!
