Dear Supporters and Praying Friends,
Greeting from Blair, Nebraska! I really do not know where to begin other than to say, “Praise God!” If I had to summarize that last two months in one word, then it would have to be: OMNIPOTENCE! God has sure been gracious to show Himself strong on our behalf!
My family and I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and continued financial support! Without your help we would be in a mess! Your thoughtful cards and letters of encouragement mean so much to us. Shilo celebrated her birthday in June and she is getting prettier all the time!!! She has enjoyed the notes from the ladies groups in our various supporting churches.
The month of May was filled with great excitement! We were able to secure a 2,300 sq.ft. storefront facility. You could not ask for a better landlord! God sent the monies in to accomplish the renovations and we still have a little left over. On behalf of our church I want to say, “THANK YOU” to all of you who prayed and gave of yourselves in this endeavor! We will soon start trying to raise the capital for our next step towards property and facilities of our own.
The building we wanted to buy originally just did not work out. We negotiated on that property for the entire month of March, but could not bring any closure to it. God taught our church some valuable lessons and we would not change anything; even if we could go back and do so. The property we are presently leasing is EXACTLY where we need to be for now.
Since our last prayer letter we have seen another soul saved. One of the young men in our Teen Youth Group gave his life to Christ at Bible Camp! Hallelujah! We have seen more visitors lately and there are prospects for many, many more to come. Keep this in your prayers!
The Open House for our new building went off without a hitch. A representative from the City of Blair was on hand for our special day. We gave the town a Certificate of Appreciation for their role in helping us and I preached on John 3:16! We had a great time!
On June 3rd, Blair had a tremendous hail storm. Most of our town was heavily damaged. Some businesses have just closed down and will not reopen. Most windows and roofs in town were destroyed by the near baseball sized hail. Our church van was totaled; however, God has and is providing help in getting a replacement. We are especially grateful for a family who has been gracious enough to give whopping $1,000.00 towards repairs or replacement of the van. This is an issue we need to resolve so pray for additional funding!
Our home was also heavily damaged and we lost our suburban. Insurance covered this loss and we were able to put a good down payment on a newer vehicle. We are presently in the middle of a lengthy process in getting our home repaired. Regardless of what has happened… it could have been much worse. Our town could have easily been destroyed by a tornado!
In conclusion, I want to thank God for His OMNIPOTENCE! There is nothing quite like serving God on the mission field! There is so much I would like to share about getting into our new building and the great things going on in our church right now, but I do not have enough room in this prayer letter to share it all. If you have any questions, or if you would like to help with some of these needs in a monetary way, then feel free to contact me by phone or email! May Christ continue to bless you and yours!
